Infrastructure Assets – Access Options for DC Schemes
Increasing allocation to real assets is seen as an important target for DC schemes where traditionally many funds have found themselves unable to allocate as much as they might wish. In the Infrastructure space, there are now an increasing number of options for funds to deploy capital. In this presentation Rod will provide an overview of the Infrastructure investible universe with an assessment of some of the options available including the, strengths and weaknesses of each option, as well as some of the challenges that other investors have faced. Rod will explain where listed Infrastructure assets can fit into a solution and also how a ‘combined’ approach can help funds achieve their asset allocations as well as potential secondary preferences such as exposure to energy transition assets or UK domestic investment opportunities.

Responsible Investment in Illiquids: A Path to Long-Term Impact for DC Members
Illiquid assets, such as private equity, infrastructure, and real estate, present a compelling opportunity to offer diversification, enhanced risk-adjusted returns, and at the same time drive meaningful societal and environmental impact—whether through renewable energy projects, affordable housing, or sustainable infrastructure. However, unlocking these benefits requires addressing significant challenges, including liquidity constraints and higher costs, while ensuring that these investments align with the values and needs of members. This talk will explore how responsible investment in illiquid asset classes can navigate these challenges and deliver impactful, long-term outcomes for DC members.

Melissa will explore member outcomes disaggregated by gender, ethnicity, age and other factors and the core drivers and risks of these. The session will then consider on a practical level, what action planning can best effect change and connect with wider DEI strategy.
