Henk Groot is Head of Investments with the Dutch industry-wide pension fund for the Retailers (1.2
million participants, € 32 billion AUM) as from 2010. He started his career with KAS Bank where he
acted in several roles being account manager for professional domestic traders, network manager
global custody and relationship manager for Institutional Investors. He then moved to Northern Trust
where he became VP, responsible for Dutch Institutional clients. He studied at the Amsterdam
University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam, did many specific Dutch studies relating to the
securities business and academic courses on pension funds at the Rotman School of Management
(Toronto, Canada).
