John is an independent consultant advising real estate investment managers, investors and others in the real estate industry on the structure and operation of real estate funds. Prior to setting up John Forbes Consulting LLP in 2013, he spent over twenty-five years with PwC, where he was the firm’s international Subject Matter Expert on real estate funds. John is the chairman of the Independent Supervisory Board of the UBS Triton Property Fund, independent chair of the Urban Splash Residential Fund and non-executive chairman of Ginkgo Advisor UK Limited. John is a member of the Indirect Property Funds Group of the Investment Property Forum (IPF) and the Public affairs Committee of the Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF).

He currently represents the real estate industry on Technical Expert Panel for the Pension and Lifetime Savings Associations (PLSA) Cost Transparency Initiative.

Over the last year, John has been heavily involved in real estate industry responses to regulatory consultations on ESG disclosures by pension funds, life insurance companies and fund managers in the EU and the UK.
